Welcome to the Website of Harold Froehlich
My name is Harold Froehlich and I want to serve you as the Place 2 City Council member.
My family has lived in Farmers Branch on Braemar Drive for over 23 years. We, like most Farmers Branch citizens, spend the majority of our time working, managing our daily lives and raising our children. My wife, Kathy, and I have spent many years involved in local PTA, Baseball, Football and Boy Scouts in Farmers Branch. Both of my sons attended CFBISD schools. Justin, my oldest, is currently serving in the United States Air Force. Jeff, my youngest, attends Texas A&M. I am currently employed by one of the nation’s leading trust banking companies. My duties include managing and coordinating real estate services for client real estate in the Southwestern United States.
As you are aware, there is no place like Farmers Branch. Our city services are incomparable both in the DFW Metroplex and the State of Texas. I believe that our City in a Park will become the envy of North Texas in the 21st Century. Our strategic location, combined with low city property taxes and a development-friendly atmosphere, will continue to attract new residents and new development to Farmers Branch.
If you elect me to the City Council, I will continue to support:
- Reducing City Spending
- Keeping Taxes Low and Ensuring a Balanced Budget
- Maintaining a Strong Reserve Fund
- Strengthening Police and Fire Protection
- Bringing in New Economic Development and Revitalizing the Four Corners
During the last year we have seen Apartment and Townhouse Development near the Galleria, in the North Dallas Design District area and Mercer Crossing. This development is a result of the strong efforts of the Council and City Staff to promote Farmers Branch as an environment conducive to new Residential and Retail Development. With my professional experience in the real estate marketplace, I can bring additional oversight and sound financial decision-making to this important area of concentration for the staff and council.
Farmers Branch has been blessed by the past efforts of our City Leaders. We enjoy one of the lowest City property tax rates in the Metroplex. I will continue to support the City Staff’s Economic Development efforts to bring in new businesses. Businesses generate approximately 80% of the City’s property tax revenue, which allows us to enjoy exceptional city services and low taxes.
A Councilman must continue to review and assess our city programs which provide services to our citizens. This includes a continued commitment to our city parks and municipal services.
While quality of life is important, we must not overburden citizens with tax increases or incur debt for future Farmers Branch generations. I bring to the Council a sense of financial accountability from the perspective of being both a cost-conscious resident and an experienced financial professional.
While no man can be all things to all people, I can promise that I will consider all citizen concerns that are brought to me and will ask the council to consider appropriate solutions. It is not my intention to promote myself as the perfect councilman, but as a family man who has achieved personal success and has an enormous amount of optimism for the future of Farmers Branch.
Lastly, based upon my life experience in Farmers Branch, I consider that my traditional family background is truly representative of many of our citizens and their lifestyles. All of us enjoy safe and secure neighborhoods for our children. We live in a community where we teach our children that Policemen and Firemen are our friends and heroes.
